Empowering Through the Arts
Creativity for Wellbeing, Connection, and Change
At ID Derby CIC, we believe creativity belongs to everyone.
We offer Arts Therapies and Creative Wellbeing initiatives that support mental health, emotional wellbeing, inclusion, and community connection through the transformative power of the arts.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to creating accessible and inclusive spaces where individuals can express themselves freely, build confidence, process experiences, and feel a sense of belonging.
We view creative expression and art-making as a fundamental human right not a privilege.
Our Neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-aware approach recognises the importance of being seen, understood, and valued for who you are. Through therapeutic and creative practice, we support children, young people, adults, and communities to reconnect with themselves and others in meaningful and empowering ways.

Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice
Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice
At ID Derby CIC, many of our therapists and staff identify as neurodivergent themselves. This lived experience is not something we see as separate from our work — it is part of the strength, empathy, creativity, and understanding we bring into our therapeutic relationships.
Our team understands that neurodivergence is not something to be “fixed”. Instead, we recognise and support the unique ways individuals experience the world, communicate, process emotions, learn, and connect with others.
Our practitioners bring personal insight into autism, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory differences, and other neurodivergent experiences. This helps us create therapeutic spaces that feel safer, more accepting, and genuinely understanding.
We understand that traditional approaches do not always work for everyone. That is why we offer creative, flexible, and person-centred therapeutic approaches that honour each individual's needs, strengths, identity, and way of being.
Our Vision
At ID Derby, our vision is rooted in the belief that even as a small organisation, we can create meaningful and lasting change. We are a small company with a big purpose driving social impact through creative, person-centred therapeutic support that makes a real difference in people’s lives.
Founded in 2024 by Rae and Rosemary, ID Derby began as a shared commitment to making creative therapies more accessible across the community. Since then, our growth has been a testament to that commitment, shaped by dedication, collaboration, and a deep belief in the power of the therapeutic arts.
We imagine a world where every person feels valued, heard, and supported; where every voice is met with empathy, and every need is approached with creativity, care, and understanding. Through the therapeutic arts, we aim to support recovery, build resilience, and nurture wellbeing in ways that are deeply human and transformative.
As a social enterprise, we are committed to reinvesting into our work and community, ensuring that what we do continues to grow in reach and impact. Our approach is compassionate, creative, and grounded in collaboration—working alongside individuals to support journeys that feel authentic and meaningful to them.
At ID Derby, we believe that small organisations can make a big difference, and that every step of the journey holds the potential for connection, growth, and positive change.
