ID Derby CIC Explained

Removing the barriers to therapy

At id Derby, we are committed to supporting you by making arts therapies accessible to everyone. We offer our services at a price that is tailored to your individual circumstances. We conduct means testing to ensure fair pricing. While we are not a charity, we are a small community interest company dedicated to sustainability.

Because ID Derby is a CIC rather than a charity the practical implications are:

While our mission is clearly community-benefit (arts therapy, wellbeing etc), we are not registered as a charity so services are not free unless stated

We have freedom to operate like a social enterprise: We can provide services, charge fees, engage in trading activities more flexibly.

We won’t have the same tax breaks that a charity might have (on donations, business rates, etc).

Our legal structure must ensure that any surplus or assets are used for the community interest and not returned to private shareholders.

  • Please find attached a copy of our pricing structure, designed to accommodate various income levels. Our waiting lists are limited, with an average wait time of approximately three weeks.
